Eagle Beach on Aruba with fofoti trees

Why I Love It

Aruba sits outside the Caribbean hurricane belt, which means the weather calculus that governs most of this list — book outside June-November — mostly doesn’t apply here. It’s one of the few islands I recommend without much of a seasonal asterisk.

The trade winds keep it from feeling as sticky-hot as other islands at the same latitude, and Eagle Beach’s rows of iconic, wind-bent fofoti trees have become one of the most recognizable single images in Caribbean travel.

Highlights

  • Eagle Beach and its iconic fofoti trees
  • Outside the hurricane belt — reliable weather nearly year-round
  • Arikok National Park’s desert landscape, a change of pace from the beach
  • Consistently ranked among the safest Caribbean islands

Best time to go: Nearly year-round — the main appeal is how little the season matters

Good for: Families wanting weather certainty, first-time Caribbean travelers
